Classical Metalsmithing I:
(Up to 2 Adults)
Techniques covered will be: Annealing, stamping, chasing, drilling, cutting and piercing with a jeweler’s saw, light forging & dapping, filing, silver soldering (3 applications: butt, sweat & t-Joint) sanding and finishing, forming, patina.

Classical Metalsmithing II: (Up to 2 Adults)
Techniques covered will be: riveting and cold connections, flex shaft uses, post and wire silver soldering, disc cutting & dapping, roll printing, and stone setting of cabochon stones.

Classical Metalsmithing III: (Up to 2 experienced Adults. Prerequisite Classical Metalsmithing I & II or equivalent)
Techniques covered will be: die cutting for the hydraulic press, soldering hollow forms, hinges, and latches for box making, setting faceted stones.

Classical Metalsmithing IV: (Up to 2 experienced Adults. Prerequisite Classical Metalsmithing I & II or equivalent)
Techniques covered will be: Pouring an ingot out of scrap metal bronze, silver or gold, rolling out sheet or wire, introduction to casting - sand casting of found or sculpted objects in pewter, plaster casting of pewter in hand carved molds.

ALL CLASSES ARE 5 WEEKS. Evenings are available on Monday, Thursday or Saturday nights 6:30-9:30 pm
COST: $810 per course (not per person) including copper, silver will be an additional $.75 per gram.
Discount: 10% off for any returning student or Metal Arts Guild member.

If you require hourly help on specific techniques choose from the catagories below: Studio lab time with supervision will be $60 per hour including copper, silver will be an additional $1.00 per gram.
