Congregation B’nai Israel Sacramento

Congregation B’nai Israel of Sacramento is is nearly as old as Sacramento itself, founded in 1849 as one of the first few Jewish synagogues west of the Mississippi.  They welcome more than 600 families with diverse background and lifestyles through our doors and help them find their Jewish path through prayer, music, learning, art and community.  In celebration of their 170th Anniversary we collaborated on this beautiful commemorative mezuzah.  This exclusive piece has custom engraving on one side which says “Congregation B’nai Israel – 1849.”  These mezuzot symbolize a way for the congregation to bring home a piece of the synagogue while helping to raise money for their community.  The central Hebrew letter shin is cut out so that the Torah shows though.
