San Francisco Waldorf High School

I have been the metal arts teacher at San Francisco Waldorf High School for over 15 years.  I was deeply honored to receive this commission.  This hollow form copper dodecahedron was created all from one sheet of copper which was scored, folded and bronze braised.  It  has a hinge and a clasp.  It will be used as part of the Foundation Stone Ceremony, which will dedicate our new school building.  The piece will be filled with writings and wishes for the school and for all of humanity.  It will be placed below ground, buried in concrete, as part of the foundation.  The upper lid with the San Francisco Waldorf School logo which has been etched will be visible from the sidewalk.  Clear lacquer will be poured over the lid at the time of the ceremony.
