March 21st, 22nd and 23rd, Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz CA will host
Aimee Golant for a weekend of art, spiritual living, and encouragement toward one’s personal and
Golant, an award-winning metal-craftswoman of the San Francisco Bay Area, has the grit and passion of a successful self-starter in the art industry. On Friday night, March 21st, she will be sharing her background and inspiration: a journey toward living a creative vision. Particularly dedicated to fostering understanding between seemingly-disparate religious cultures and sharing the humanistic values Judaism has to offer, she explores the ideological connections language can help us develop in her newest project “Art for Prayer and Piece: a Bridge to Oneness.”
After the talk, come view and experience Golant’s art. Her pieces will also be available for purchase, where 10% of her art sales will benefit the Cabrillo College metal arts department.
For Golant, living a creative vision and establishing herself as an artist requires a homeostasis between the physical, spiritual and, well, ‘business’ aspects of the self. On Saturday, she will be helping aspiring self-starters maintain sight of their ambitions. This bustling day will include discussions on goal-setting and maintaining positivity, as well as meditation sessions. Her business planning classes will cover topics including pricing; online and in-show marketing; definitions of standard business terms; wholesale vs. retail approaches to business, cash flow and money management; customer relations; designing for production; photography; and hiring. Sunday will end this weekend with a final critique, where students from Saturday will present their works and receive feedback from their fellow entrepreneurs. Golant will also stick around to share her art and address any lingering questions.
Overall, Golant’s weekend of “Living a Creative Vision” will touch the creative, open-minded soul while helping us envision success in one’s life craft.
