In the wake of the Bondi Beach massacre—a day when the chilling call to ‘Globalize Intifada’ was tragically realized—there was no room for joy. We were burdened by a profound sense of heaviness and sickness. But amidst the sorrow, we conceived a plan: to create a magnificent menorah, a light to summon Jewish joy and pride back into a world overshadowed by darkness. Upon its completion, we found that joy had returned, tempered by the enduring memory of our sadness. It was a true honor to combine my passion for Judaica and horticulture, resulting in a breathtaking ‘living menorah’ for the inaugural night of Hanukkah festivities and community celebration last night with Chabad of Cole Valley.

May we all find light in the dark.
