Or Shalom Jewish Community waited a long time before finally having their own worship space.  Now that they are beginning to settle into their new home– I worked with them to create their very own custom mezuzah– one for their doorpost, and limited production mezuzahs and pins that were offered as part of the annual fundraiser.  We used their new logo and branding as the central design force behind the pieces.  Our goal was to commemorate this milestone and give the community something unique, beautiful and tangible as Or Shalom enters this new phase.  We will finally be consecrating the new space Saturday,  June 9th at 11 am.

The final result is cast in pewter and was offered as part of the annual fundraiser.:

The mezuzah holds a 10 cm scroll.

Join us for a profoundly meaningful & sacred ceremony led by R’ Faryn, during which we will affix a mezuzah to our doorpost.

Or Shalom will celebrate the invaluable contributions of immediate past president Matt Rudoff and former Executive Director Amy Mallor for their instrumental roles in the acquisition of the building and securing the Conditional Use Authorization permit from the city.

Following the ceremony, we invite you to gather at Holly Park for a brown bag picnic! Below, you will find the detailed schedule for this event, ensuring that you can plan your participation accordingly.

  • 11:00 – 11:30 am: Building Tours and Nosh
  • 11:30 – 12:00 pm: Program, Ritual and Mezuzah Installation
  • 12:00 – 1:00 pm: Picnic at Holly Park (please bring your own brown bag lunch and blanket/chairs)Hope to see you there!
