Thanks to you, the real work begins!

Dear People,

There has been a great shift in my work and in my life.  Here is what has been happening–  On November 15th, wIth less than 72 hours left on my Kickstarter Campaign I miraculouly received this email from the Dalai Lama’s assistant:

At that point we still needed many more funds for the Kickstarter to be successful.  But this email energized me and the people who support my work.  It is with HUGE gratitude that I report that as of November 18th, over 124 people came together (some even sent checks to my sister to be added into her pledge) to successfully fund the first pieces in the Art for Prayer and Peace: A Bridge to Oneness!

Since that day (after a few tears of joy) I have been busy working on getting this project off the ground.  One thing I did was to send out a survey through the kickstarter to get all the backers’ contact information and reward details.  (If you have backed the project and have not answered the survey, please check your inbox– it was sent on 11/19.)

I have also begun the rudimentary cardboard mock-up of the pieces so that I can get a strong sense of how much copper and gold leaf I will need to order before the end of the year:

And finally, I have been in contact with UpStart Bay Area (a non-profit start-up accelerator), California Lawyers for the Arts, and The Foundation Center– gathering advice and information on how to turn this project into a non-profit.

In the meantime, my first priority is to get all of the rewards and acknowledgements out, make these Torah Crowns and create 10 speaking engagements about this work within the next 12-18 months.

This Thanksgiving I have so much wonderful work to be grateful for.  THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN ME!  I can’t wait to make your generousity count and make good on my promise to make this art.  Stay tuned for future progress reports!

With Love and Gratitude,
