National Museum of American Jewish History

This piece, made of etched silver, copper and brick was an exclusive commission for the front entrance of the National Museum of American Jewish History. As is common for most commissions in public spaces, the clients and I worked in partnership to design this large mezuzah. We used etching to create the background texture on the silver– which looks like the windows on the building. The pieces of brick inset in the silver were taken from the building site itself. The Hebrew lettter shin looks like the logo of the National Museum of American Jewish History.
